The IG 01 inert gas fire extinguishing system uses argon gas as an extinguishing agent to suppress the fire in a non-invasive and effective way, with the total saturation technique.

Argon is a natural gas present in the atmosphere which acts as an extinguishing agent as it reduces the oxygen content present in the environment up to a level between 10% and 12%. This level is sufficient to prevent combustion but does not pose a hazard to people who may be present in the area. Furthermore, when argon comes into contact with flames, no reaction occurs and no harmful or corrosive decomposition products are developed. Finally, the argon returns to the atmosphere's natural cycle without causing harm to the environment.

It is ideal for sensitive environments where the safety of people and the preservation of assets are essential. This type of system finds application in a wide range of environments, such as data centers, research laboratories, museums, industrial and manufacturing areas, high-value buildings and public spaces. The plant works by distributing the inert gas to the area to be protected via pipes and nozzles at controlled pressure, which reduce the oxygen concentration in the environment to a point where the fire can no longer be sustained (around 10- 12%). Among the advantages of this type of fire-fighting system are the rapidity of intervention, the safety of people, the absence of harmful residues and the compatibility with precision electronic equipment. The main components of the system are the battery of high pressure cylinders, the distribution pipes, the discharge nozzles, the pressure reducer, the control unit and the smoke and heat detectors.
